Level's Determination factors
For decisions on which level you should enter in, we suggest the following step suggestions for each level. These are not limits or required, but suggested to keep each level as close as possible.
(As noted, please no Canadians, Double Doubles, pullbacks or slapbacks in Beginning levels. There is no penalty, but dancers with these skills are suggested to dance in Intermediate or higher levels.) Thanks!

Nationals West at Lagoon Qualifiers

WHO QUALIFIES: 1st place winners qualify in Novice, Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced and Championship Levels in Team, Duet, and Individual events AND any Pro Level dancer who competes, regardless of whether they win or not (remember you must qualify to compete in PRO). Winners can qualify at ANY competition not just the ones listed here. We hope this will help everyone who wants to qualify to better calendar their competition season.

EXPANDED QUALIFICATION RULES: In order to better accommodate those who travel, we have expanded our qualifications. TEAMS who win a 1st Place in ANY routine qualify to compete ALL of their routines INCLUDING all individual events. ALL MEMBERS of TEAMS who qualify can also compete in FREESTYLE, DUET, AND A CAPPELLA (even if they have not qualified in those events yet, as long as the team has already qualified .

INDIVIDUALS whose teams do not qualify, but who win 1st place in ANY category (solo, duet, a cappella) qualify to compete in EVERY category (except team). This includes ALL their duets whether their partner won 1st in any category or not. This will allow every national qualifier to compete as much as possible in as many events (even if they won only one 1st place in 1 category).

ALL-AMERICAN NTL TEAM: During Western Nationals held at Lagoon, 1st and 2nd place Solo and Duet, Championship, and all Pro winners will compete for the prestigious All-American National Team. Winners will receive a Grandchampion Jacket. Novice, Beginning, & Advanced winners compete for Jr. All-American Team.

TEAM NATIONAL WINNERS: Qualifying 1st place winners will compete for Overall National Grandchampion Teams during Western Nationals. Overall National Grandchampion Trophies will be awarded. High scores will be used to determine Grandchampion Team winners in Clogging, Jazz and Lyrical/Ballet.

CLOGGING TRIPLE CROWN: A special event for Top Clogging Teams will be offered exclusively at Nationals., in one of the most exciting events of the year. Begin preparing now. Each team will compete one routine, one duet, one freestyle. It should be awesome.

SPECIALIZED RULES: One competition this year will use a different set of rules, Edge Championships. Please contact the competition director for a set of these rules if you wish to compete.
